Steve has taught his electric
bass methods to private students and in workshops throughout
Canada and the USA. He has also written several published
articles which have appeared in Canadian Musician magazine
including topics covering "Triadic Familiarization",
"Practising with accents", "Working on your
sound", "Secondary Dominant Permutations".
Steve has studied with such great bassists as Gary Willis,
Dave Young, and Rael Wesley Grant, and attented workshops
by Matt Garrison, Victor Wooten, John Patittucci, and Alain
Caron. In addition to formal music studies in Toronto and
New York, Steve has also studied with 2004 Grammy winning
arranger/composer Gil Goldstein (Miles Davis, Al Jarreau)
and drummer/composer Kenwood Dennard, (Wayne Shorter, Jaco
Pastorius)
